Fun Bike Ride with Altitude & Finish Line Music Festival
No Dogs Allowed in Inyo County Parks
Kick off your summer riding your bike in the Eastern Sierra Mountains and take part in the inaugural Mammoth2Bishop Fun Bike Ride with Altitude and Finish Line Festival, which will deliver the best combination of scenery, challenging ride with altitude, camaraderie, music, art, humanity and philanthropy. All in an Eco Friendly environment, this will be a Green Event that’s all in the name of FUN.
You will be riding your bike and taking all the scenery in, from the big mountain views, to the back country roads with newly blossom spring flowers, to the majestic Crowley Lake filled with fishermen and sea birds, the vast open valley floor where livestock are roaming in the fields and a chance to see many of the local wild animals from the migrating Mule Deer, to the Red Tail Hawk, Peregrine Falcon and Bald Eagle soaring in the sky, to our little friends the Lodgepole Chipmunk and Golden-mantled Ground Squirrel cruising in the Sage Brush and much more.
As you take a deep breath of the fresh crisp mountain air, your senses will become vibrant and you will feel alive with all that surrounds you.
The Start of the ride will be in the heart of Mammoth Lakes at the Mammoth Creek Park. There will be opening ceremonies, morning concessions and vendors, last minute registrations, music and more. The ride will be a little over 42 miles with a decent of 3,700 feet. It’s not all downhill, the majority of the ride is flat and there are three up hills section. Just riding at this elevation is challenging enough.
Riding along the course, there will be multiple stops for you to reenergize your soul with music, art, food, drinks and humanity. At these rest spots, there will be bike repair, medical assistance and hydration stations. Tom’s Place will be the halfway mark and this will be the main stop along the ride. There will be school fundraisers along the course as well, so bring a little extra cash.
Finishing the ride at Millpond Recreation Area is where the Finish Line Music Festival and awards ceremony will be. So riders, put on your best costume, I want to hear the bike with the best sound systems, grab your partner and get on that tandem bike, drag that beach cruiser from the beach, put on those rollerblades if you dare, The one who does the longest wheelies and if you really have to race it, then first, second and third…. WILL BE for YOU! Don’t worry everyone will get an AWARD!!!The Finish Line Festival.
The Finish Line Festival at Millpond Recreation Area is what it’s all about, the celebration of completing an amazing ride through the Eastern Sierras of California. Here is where we will have live entertainment (bands and dj’s) and art, from all around California. We will have healthy food and eco friendly vendors. There will be camping offered in this area for Friday and Saturday night, but NO CAMPING IN MILLPOND RECREATION AREA and there will be shuttle service to and from Mammoth Lakes and Bishop.
